Joe Lynch (1919)

Joe Lynch (* the thirtieth November 1898 in New York City , USA ; † 1. September 1965 ) was an American boxer in the bantamweight .

Professional career

In 1915 he started his career successfully. On December 22nd, 1920 he boxed against Pete Herman for the universal world championship and won by unanimous decision. He lost this belt on July 25 of the following year in a rematch against Pete Herman on points.

On July 10, 1922, however, he again won the universal world title when he beat Johnny Buff in round 14 by TKo . In December of the same year, with a unanimous victory on points over Midget Smith, the world championship title of the NBA was added (the NBA was renamed WBA in 1962 ).

On March 21, 1924 he lost the belt to Abe Goldstein on points.

In 1926 he ended his career.

In 2005, Lynch was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame .
