Johan Furhoff

Lars Johan Furhoff (born July 7, 1969 in Stockholm- Hässelby ) is a Swedish chess player .

In 1995 he won the Kristallen KM Open in Stockholm , in 2001 he finished first in a Third Saturday tournament in Belgrade . At the turn of 2006/07 he finished 5th at the Rilton Cup in Stockholm, half a point behind the winner Robert Fontaine . In 2010 he won the Salongerna Vårturnering in Stockholm.

In 1994 he became a FIDE master and since October 2008, since the Elo limit of 2400 has been exceeded , he has held the title of International Master . He achieved the norms for this at the Open in Copenhagen in January 1996 and with over-fulfillment at the Rilton Cups at the turn of the year 2002/03 (with victories against, among others, Yekaterina Kowalewskaja and Sergei Vladimirovich Ivanov ) and 2006/07 (with victories against, among others, Tomi Nybäck and Slavko Cicak ) in Stockholm.

He plays club chess for the Stockholm club Södra SASS , with which he was represented in the 1996/97 season and from 1998 to 2006 in the Elitserien . Its Elo rating is 2324 (as of May 2020), its highest to date was 2413 in April 2009.
