Johan Turi (born March 12, 1854 in Kautokeino ( Norway ), † November 30, 1936 in Jukkasjärvi ( Sweden )) was a Sami writer .

Johan Turi was the first writer to write secular texts in a Sami language (namely in the North Sami language ). His first work Muittalus samiid birra (1910, German 1912), which also has ethnographic value, is famous .
