Johan Wilhelm Guldbrand

Johan Wilhelm Guldbrand (born July 25, 1744 in Nykøbing Falster , † September 25, 1809 ) was a Danish doctor .

Guldbrand was the son of the organist and palace administrator Christian Guldbrand and Marie, nee. Reffdal. He made his studies under Bang and Saxtorph in Copenhagen, where he graduated from the faculty in 1771. He received his doctorate in 1774 with his dissertation de sangui fluxo uterino , in which he made many valuable observations about uterine bleeding. In 1776 he became court medic and member of the important commission for the promotion of surgery , 1781 royal personal physician, 1782 member of the management of Frederiks Hospital . In connection with Urban Bruun Aaskow he worked for the expansion and improvement of the royal maternity hospital. In addition to his inaugural dissertation , he has only published smaller papers , mostly in the first three volumes of the Acta societatis medicae Hafniensis .
