Johanelis Herrera Abreu (born August 11, 1995 in Santo Domingo ) is an Italian sprinter from the Dominican Republic .

Athletic career

Johanelis Herrera Abreu gained his first international experience at the Junior European Championships in Rieti in 2013 . There she was eliminated over 100 meters in the preliminary round and took sixth place with the Italian 4 x 100 meters. In 2014 she qualified for the Junior World Championships in Eugene , where she was eliminated over 100 meters in the preliminary run and over 200 meters to the semi-finals. In 2015 she won the silver medal with the Italian relay at the U23 European Championships in Tallinn, Estonia and was eliminated in the first round over 200 meters. In 2016 she won the bronze medal with her club at the Italian championships in Rieti and in 2015 and 2016 they also won bronze with the relay at the indoor championships. In 2017 she again took part in the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz , where she was eliminated over 100 meters in the preliminary round, made it to the semi-finals over 200 meters and finished fifth with the Italian team.
