Johann A. Bunners

Johann A. Bunners (* 1975 in Berlin ) is a German screenwriter .

Life

The son of the theologian and musicologist Christian Bunners spent childhood and youth in East Berlin and was a member of the St. Thomas Choir in Leipzig . In 1989 Bunners first fled to West Germany , in 1994 he returned to Berlin, graduated from high school and did several internships as a director. Since then, Johann A. Bunners has been working as a screenwriter.

Bunners also worked on the film description of the visually impaired - audio description . Between 1998 and 2000 he was a student at the script academy of the DFFB - German Film and Television Academy Berlin. After graduating, Bunners co-founded screenwriters-berlin , an association of 4 screenwriters.

He lives and works as a freelance writer for scripts, film and series concepts in Berlin and Mecklenburg . His brother is television and film actor David C. Bunners , who also works with him as a producer.

On February 22, 2009, the film Toy Land (idea and script: Johann A. Bunners) won an Oscar in the Best Short Film category at the 81st Academy Awards in Los Angeles .
