Christian Bunners

Christian Bunners (born April 3, 1934 in Zapel ) is a German Protestant theologian and musicologist .

Life

The son of pastor Walter Bunners studied Protestant theology at the University of Rostock from 1953 . Here he was awarded a doctorate in 1962 with a dissertation on "Piety and Music in 17th Century Lutheranism". theol. PhD. He worked as an organist , evangelical pastor, lecturer at the church seminar Paulinum (Berlin-Friedrichshain) from 1975 to 1999 and church broadcasting officer.

Bunners is now retired and works as a freelance writer and editor. Since 1999 he has been chairman of the historical commission for research into pietism and founding president of the Paul Gerhardt Society . He has been on the board of the Fritz Reuter Society since 1990 and publishes various literature on their behalf.

In March 2011 Christian Bunners received the certificate of honor for home care and culture from the state association of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania eV, in April 2018 the letter of honor from the Fritz Reuter Society.

Bunners is divorced and has four children, including the actor David Bunners , the deputy solo bassist of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra Katharina C. Bunners and the screenwriter Johann A. Bunners .
