Johann Adolph Marschall , contemporary also Adolf Marschalch or Marschalk , (born June 26, 1643 in Herrengosserstedt , † July 25, 1693 in Schönstedt ) was a German court official and manor owner on Altengottern, Herrengosserstedt and Schönstedt, hereditary marshal in Thuringia and princely Saxon district chief.

Live and act

He came from the Thuringian noble family Marschall , which had its headquarters in Herrengosserstedt as hereditary marshals of the Landgraviate of Thuringia. Under Rudolph Levin Marschall , his father, Altengottern was expanded as a further seat of this Thuringian family, from which Johann Adolph Marschall came. He was born on the Herrengosserstedt manor after his father had gradually bought back the family estate there that had fallen into stranger hands.

In 1666 he submitted his dissertation under the title Dissertatio Iuris Publici De Vicariatu Imperii Nostri Romano-Germanici .

He became a member of the Fruit Bringing Society, where he was entitled The Clarifying One .

As head of the district in Thuringia, Johann Adolph Marschall donated 1,000 Mariengulden to theology students on his Schönstedt estate. This scholarship was later transferred to the head captain Johann Julius Marschall at Gut Plotha.

At the time of his death, he left behind two unmarried daughters, Johanna Charlotta and Johanna Sibylla. He was married to Sabina Ottilia geb. of posers.

It should not be confused with members of the Marschall von Bieberstein family of the same name , such as the Prussian Colonel Johann Adolph Marschall von Bieberstein (1670–1735) or the Teutonic Order Commander in Dommitzsch Johann Adolph Marschall von Bieberstein († 1738).
