Johann Anton Tscharner
Johann Anton (von) Tscharner (born September 13, 1880 in Bern ; † September 16, 1955 in Bregenz ) was a Swiss architect who worked primarily in Austria .
Life
He lived with his wife Dora (née Merhart von Bernegg, 1885–1962) and their daughter Barbara (* 1916) in the Upper Town of Bregenz. In addition to Willibald Braun, Tscharner shaped the architecture of the state of Vorarlberg in the interwar period.
Works (selection)
- The three-story building at Kirchstrasse 8 in Bregenz has a core from the 16th and 17th centuries. Century. The inn was expanded in 1831 and in 1926 a renovation was carried out by Johann Anton Tscharner.
- Tscharner planned the interior renovation for the Deuring Schlössle in Bregenz in 1915
- The comradeship house and bath house at the Kennelbacher factory (formerly the Schindler textile factory ) was planned by Tscharner in 1938/39, as was the development of Kanalstrasse No. 138–141 in 1939.
- At Färbergasse 16 in Dornbirn there is a manufacturer's villa in the immediate vicinity of the Rohrbach plant. It was built by Johann Anton Tscharner in the national romantic style between 1939 and 1941.
- In 1936 Tscharner built a house in the style of the Rhine Valley house in Hard , Landstrasse No. 4 .
- In 1937, renovations were started in Wolfurt Castle according to Tscharner's plans - in 1939 the building was destroyed by fire and in 1940/41 it was rebuilt in free-floating forms, again according to Tscharner's plans.
