Johann Bauer (politician, 1887)

Johann Bauer (born October 13, 1887 in Neuses , † May 28, 1962 in Potsdam ) was a German trade unionist and social democratic politician.

Life

Johann Bauer was born the son of a tailor. After attending primary school in Coburg , he completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter in wood processing. From 1919 to 1931 he worked full-time as managing director or workers secretary of the woodworkers' association. In Luckenwalde he was chairman of the local committee of the ADGB since 1927 .

In Luckenwalde farmer was 1,926 to 1,931 for the SPD city councilor and then until his dismissal in 1933 salaried City Council . On April 29, 1925, he succeeded as a member of the Prussian state parliament , to which he was a member until 1933.

At the beginning of the National Socialist era , Bauer was imprisoned in the Sonnenburg and Oranienburg concentration camps, among others .
