Johann Christian Steinauer (born in Roßwein (?); Died 1748 in Naumburg ) had been the owner of the property in Großjena since 1720 , on which the "Stone Album" or "Stone Picture Book" is located, which shows the production of the wine and scenes from the Old Testament. Professionally he was a merchant and jeweler , but more likely a gold manufacturer. He was referred to as the Saxon-Weissenfels court jeweler. Steinauer initiated the creation of the Stone Album in 1722. he is remembered for the donation of this over 200 m long rock relief in the baroque style . It was done in homage to Steinauer's employer, Duke Christian (1682–1736), on his 10th anniversary in government. However, it is unknown who carried out the sculptural work. This is also immortalized on the stone album. He was a fan of hunting and wine. According to the city register of the city of Naumburg, Steinauer had had Naumburg citizenship since 1706.

This picture arch, comprising twelve reliefs , is the largest freely carved into the rock in the European cultural area. The balustrade adorned with figures along the upper edge of the terrace was reconstructed on the basis of old photographs and some existing remains.
