Johann Christoph Erbstein
Johann Christoph Erbstein (born November 30, 1720 in Langensalza ; † August 1, 1805 in Wehlen near Pirna ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran clergyman and theologian .
Life
Johann Christoph Erbstein was the son of the cloth merchant Tobias Erbstein. He studied theology in Jena , Erlangen and Wittenberg and obtained his master's degree . From 1751 to 1799 he was pastor in Wehlen. He published numerous theological writings as well as edification literature.
His son was the bookseller, historian and numismatist Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Erbstein .
