After continuing his studies at the University of Jena in the summer semester of 1649, he moved three years later to his uncle Sebastian Beer (born July 19, 1609 in Lauf an der Pegnitz; † October 30, 1659 in Altenburg) in Altenburg , where he settled practiced legal practice for a year.

In 1662 he became a full professor of law, then assessor at the Jena Schöppenstuhl and court court, as well as the Princely Saxon Council. In his capacity as a Jena university lecturer, he also took part in the organizational tasks of the Salana.
