Johann Christoph von Buseck (born August 29, 1687 - † January 16, 1759 ) was Commander of the Teutonic Order.

Johann Christoph von Buseck came from the old Lahngau noble family of the von Buseck . He was a son of Philipp Franz Edmund von Buseck and his wife Maria Antonia Amelia, born von Fechenbach . His brother Friedrich Franz Ludwig von Buseck was Prince-Bishop of Fulda under the religious name Amand von Buseck , his nephew Christoph Franz von Buseck became the last Prince-Bishop of Bamberg .

Life

Johann Christoph became a Franconian knight in Ellingen on September 23, 1722 . He had previously served in the imperial army in Italy since 1718, where he achieved the rank of captain. He spent his time as a novice in Ellingen and Mergentheim. In 1724 he was house commander in Ellingen and since February 2, 1729 he was commander of the Horneck order house in Gundelsheim , as well as chief magistrate of the Scheuerberg area. On April 9, 1735 he became a Franconian councilor . His tomb is in the parish church of St. Nikolaus in Gundelsheim. According to DEMEL (see literature), however, the date of birth mentioned on the grave slab, September 1, 1687, is incorrect.
