Johann Conrad Hochstetter

Johann Conrad Hochstetter (* 1583 in Gerhausen (now part of Blaubeuren ); † February 10, 1661 in Kirchheim / Teck ) was a Lutheran theologian , city ​​pastor and special superintendent .

After obtaining a master's degree in philosophy, Johann Conrad Hochstetter became the Preceptor of Maulbronn , then a deacon in Brackenheim , and from 1617 in Stuttgart . In 1626 he was appointed pastor of Kirchheim / Teck and special superintendent in Kirchheim / Teck and Nürtingen .

On September 29, 1612, Hochstetter married Ursula Koch (* 1589 in Gerhausen) with whom he had 11 children: Andreas (* 1615), Anna Maria (* 1617), Konrad (* 1619), Johann Konrad (* 1621) in Blaubeuren , Johann Ulrich (* 1622), Christoph (* 1624), Johann Jacob (* 1626), Ursula (* 1627), Helena (* 1630), Helene (* 1631) and Anna Johanna (* 1632).

After the death of his first wife, Hochstetter married Anna Regina Kieser (* 1615 in Blaubeuren, † 1678 in Kirchheim / Teck) on March 8, 1636 in Kirchheim / Teck. Six other children emerged from this marriage: Johann Andreas (* 1637, † 1720), Johann Friedrich (* 1639), Anna Regina (* 1641), Anna Margaretha (* 1642), Johann Sigismund (* 1643) and Johann Ludwig ( * 1648).

Johann Conrad Hochstetter was with Duke Eberhard III. With great grace, seven of his sons received a ducal scholarship and made careers as theologians and pastors.
