Johann Daniel Bütemeister

Johann Daniel Bütemeister (born May 23, 1661 in Sudershausen , † December 23, 1721 in Göttingen ) was a German Lutheran theologian and general superintendent of the General Diocese of Göttingen .

Life

Born as the son of Heizo Bütemeister, then pastor in Sudershausen and previously court preacher in Eutin, Johann Daniel Bütemeister attended schools in Northeim and Celle . He studied philosophy, mathematics and theology at the University of Helmstedt , became court master of the three sons of the chamber master Christiani in Celle and a candidate for the ministry before he was appointed pastor of St. Georg on the mountain in front of Ratzeburg in 1681. In 1693 he became prince-bishop court preacher, consistorial councilor and superintendent in Eutin , in 1709 first pastor at the St. John's Church in Göttingen and general superintendent of Göttingen. In part-time he was a professor at the Göttingen Pedagogy.
