Johann Daniel Haas (entrepreneur, 1780)
Johann Daniel Haas (III.) (Born October 15, 1780 in Dillenburg ; † February 24, 1849 there ) was a German tobacco manufacturer and member of parliament.
Life
Johann Daniel Haas was a tobacco and cigarette manufacturer in Dillenburg and senior director of the Johann Daniel Haas company . The company was one of the most important tobacco companies in the Duchy of Nassau . It was founded by Haas' father, Johann Daniel II Haas (1731–1798), was then continued as a partner by Johann Daniel Haas from 1798 and later expanded into a wine and grocery store. To distinguish it from his grandfather and father of the same name, his name is often "III." attached. The mother was Sarah née Ernst (* around 1748, † October 26, 1806 in Dillenburg).
On August 10, 1809, Haas, who was a Protestant denomination, married Elisabeth Louise, born Penner (* 1791; † 1860) in Heidelberg , the daughter of the businessman Johann Jakob Penner and Louise Katharina Wilhelmine Ernst. The marriage resulted in three daughters:
- Emilie Emma, she married Jacob Landfried, the builder of the Villa Hindenburgstrasse 14 . Georg Landfried received shares in the company through him .
- Adeline Johanna Henriette Helene (1816–1892), she married the chief medical officer Otto Thilenius (1800–1867) and became the mother of Otto Thilenius
- Auguste (1814–1885), she married Wilhelm von Heemskerck in 1836
politics
1846–1848 he was a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Land estates of the Duchy of Nassau , elected from the group of landowners, constituency Dillenburg. He was not present at the state parliament session in 1847. In 1848 he was a member of the Frankfurt pre-parliament .
