Georg Landfried

Georg Landfried (* 1855 ; † December 29, 1920 in Dillenburg ) was a German entrepreneur, IHK president and member of parliament.

Life

Georg Landfried was a tobacco and cigarette manufacturer in Dillenburg and senior director of the Johann Daniel Haas company . The company was one of the most important tobacco companies in the Duchy of Nassau . It was founded by Johann Daniel II Haas (1731–1798), and was then continued by his son Johann Daniel Haas (1780–1849), who was also a member of the state parliament and, in 1848, a member of the Frankfurt preliminary parliament. His daughter Emilie Emma married Jacob Landfried, a relative of Georg Landfried. Georg Landfried acquired shares in the company through him.

Georg Landfried was married to Anna, born Sternheimer.

Landfried belonged to the Dillenburg Chamber of Commerce and was Deputy President from 1902 and President from 1916 to 1919. In 1916 he moved up for Carl Grün and the Dillkreis in the Nassau municipal parliament. In the municipal parliament he was a member of the finance committee.
