Johann Deutsch (politician)

Johann Deutsch (born September 24, 1932 in Deutsch Bieling , Heiligenbrunn municipality ; † November 12, 1990 in Güssing ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. Deutsch was a member of the Federal Council from 1968 to 1972 and a member of the Burgenland Landtag from 1972 to 1977 .

Life

Deutsch was born the son of the farmer Josef Deutsch and attended the secondary school in Güssing after primary school in Deutsch Bieling . He then graduated from the agricultural college in Güssing and worked as a farmer.

politics

In 1967, Deutsch took on the role of district farmers' union chairman in the Güssing district and between 1967 and 1970 he was the deputy mayor and mayor of Deutsch Bieling. After the unification of several municipalities, Deutsch became mayor of the newly formed large municipality of Heiligenbrunn in 1971 , where he held this position until 1982. After that he was active as a local councilor until 1987. Deutsch was also a member of the Federal Council from April 24, 1968 to February 17, 1972, and on February 21, 1972, he succeeded Josef Wiesler in the Burgenland Landtag, of which he was a member until October 27, 1977.
