Johann Dominicus Aigner (born April 2, 1761 in Lienz , † June 16, 1848 in Lienz) was mayor of the city of Lienz and owner of the "Gasthof zum Fisch".

Life

Johann III. Dominicus was born in 1761 in Lienz as the eldest son of Johann II and Franziska Roracker (owner of "Gasthof zum Fisch" and a citizen of Lienz). He grew up in Lienz with his six siblings.

Johann III. From November 8, 1805 to September 30, 1808, Aigner held the office of mayor and councilor of Lienz as well as other municipal services. After the Battle of Spinges in 1797, when Johann was a city ​​councilor (since November 11, 1796) in Lienz, he and the mayor Johann Josef Oberhueber , city ​​judge Josef Peter Aigner , the tradesman Konrad Unterhuber and the Lienz citizen Melchior Stramitzer became involved French General Barthélemy-Catherine Joubert, who was retreating through the Puster Valley , was deported as a hostage : the prisoners were released by the general when the municipality of Lienz had paid the contribution of 100,000 francs imposed on them.
