Johann Donath
Johann Donath , also Hans Donath , (born December 31, 1866 in Kronstadt , † February 23, 1941 in Bremen ) was a German printer , editor and politician ( SPD ).
biography
education and profession
Donath attended elementary school and completed an apprenticeship as a printer. He worked as a printer, typesetter and editor. 1905/06 he worked briefly as editor of the people's will in Hanover . From 1907 to 1933 he worked as an editor in the SPD party newspaper Bremer Bürgerzeitung and Volksblatts and Volkszeitung in Bremen.
politics
Donath was a member of the SPD. From 1900 to 1905 he was a board member of the SPD in Bremen.
From 1904 to 1905 and from 1908 to 1918 in the 12th and 14th to 15th legislative periods he was a member of the Bremen citizenship .
After the First World War he was a member of the constituent Bremen National Assembly in 1919/1920 . From April 1919 to July 1920 he took on the duties of a senator in Bremen in the provisional senate under Karl Deichmann . After that he was again from 1920 to 1930 member of the Bremen citizenship and from 1924 to 1928 secretary in the citizenship.
Further memberships and offices
From 1893 to 1896 he was chairman of the branch of the printing association in Bremen. In 1899 he was chairman of the trade union cartel in Bremen.
