Johann Ferdinand Feige the Elder
Johann Ferdinand Feige the Elder (* July 12, 1733 in Dresden ; † May 13, 1783 ibid) was a German sculptor in Saxony .
Life
Johann Ferdinand Feige the Elder was the third son of Johann Christian Feige the Elder and began training as a sculptor with his father at an early age. He then lived and worked with his brother Johann Friedrich Feige on his farm in Hellendorf near Pirna until 1766 . Due to the Seven Years' War (1756 to 1763) and the economically bad years, there were no major orders. He made elaborate grave monuments in and around Dresden.
