Johann Friedrich Deinhard
Johann Friedrich Deinhard (born September 13, 1772 in Wollenberg ; † October 23, 1827 in Koblenz ) was a German entrepreneur and founder of the Deinhard sparkling wine cellar .
family
Johann Friedrich Deinhard's parents were Michael Deinhard and Philippina Hermann, both died in Wollenberg in 1794. He married Barbara Ludovika Nebel (1778-1824), the daughter of the future mayor Johann Nikolaus Nebel, in Koblenz on Ventôse 30, 1801 . The two had six children. Two of the two sons, August (1806-1865) and Carl (1809-1850), worked in the father's company. Madeleine Karoline Louise and Friedrich Prosper were twins who were born on July 21, 1812 in Koblenz. Madeleine Karoline Louise married Anton Jordan (1804–1890), who had managed the company's London branch. Friedrich Prosper married Auguste Margarete Jordan (1816–1889), a daughter of the Bavarian MP Andreas Jordan (1775–1848), and in 1849 founded the Deinhard winery in Deidesheim . His son Andreas Deinhard , also a winemaker, was a member of the German Reichstag from 1898 to 1903 .
Life
Deinhard was born in Wollenberg and completed a commercial apprenticeship in Worms , after which he came to Koblenz in 1794. There he first opened a retail store for coffee, salt, cheese, spirits, etc., with wine becoming the strongest commercial object of his business. In the Koblenzer Gemüsegasse he also worked from 1796 to 1798 as an agent for the banking house Gebr. Mühlens (Frankfurt am Main). In 1802 he bought an additional wine shop. In 1810 he acquired a property in Koblenz Neustadt, which later became the parent company of his company. Deinhard is considered an economic pioneer in Koblenz, as his activities turned the city into a wine trading center. Johann Friedrich Deinhard has not yet made sparkling wine , for which the Deinhard company became particularly well known. This line of business was only taken up under his son August Deinhard.
Johann Friedrich Deinhard was a member of the city council of Koblenz from 1811 until his death. He was also a commercial judge for a time and advocated the establishment of a chamber of commerce . He was a member of the Koblenz Freemason Lodge Friedrich zur Vaterlandliebe .
Deinhardstrasse is named after him in his place of birth Wollenberg.
