Johann Friedrich Zittmann
Johann Friedrich Zittmann (born May 15, 1671 ; † May 5, 1757 in Teplitz ) was a royal Polish and electoral Saxon general staff doctor .
Life
Zittmann worked in Teplitz as a well and bath doctor, between 1696 and 1757 he was professor of the Austrian military bathhouse in Teplitz-Schönau, which he had co-founded. In January 1722 he was appointed personal medic by Elector Friedrich August I. Zittmann earned merits in syphilis research , a decoction , the " Decoctum Zittmanni ", was named after him.
