Johann Georg Zacheis

Johann Georg Zacheis (born November 15, 1821 in Frankfurt am Main ; † August 9, 1857 there ) was a German landscape painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Zacheis studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy in 1843/1844 . There he was a student of Johann Wilhelm Schirmer's landscape class . In 1844 he took part in a raffle for artists from Düsseldorf for the benefit of needy weavers in Silesia with a painting . In 1845 he exhibited at the Kölnischer Kunstverein . He painted mountain landscapes, such as the Harz and the Alps . He lived in his hometown, where he exhibited Alpine landscapes in 1854.
