Johann Gottfried Jugel

Johann Gottfried Jugel (* 1707 ; † May 12, 1786 in Berlin ) was a German surveyor , guardein , alchemist and writer . Jugels works were published under the pseudonyms Philosophiae cultor and the secret science cultor , which he his initials IGI or JGJ added sat.

The exact origin of Jugel and his biography are almost unknown. He was born in Upper Lusatia, other stations in his life were Zittau and Dresden . From 1742 he was a mining director in the Prussian civil service.

After his retirement in 1771, Johann Gottfried Jugel moved to Berlin, where he became a member of the Rosicrucians .
