Johann Gottfried Spießhofer (born February 9, 1854 in Heubach ; † March 31, 1917 there ) was a German entrepreneur.

Life

Spießhofer's ancestors immigrated to Württemberg from the Salzburger Land (Radstadt area; Spießhof near Lungötz in the eastern Tennengebirge ) around 1680 . His father moved from Bartholomä to Heubach at the beginning of the 19th century and was accepted into the local weavers' guild in 1838. In 1879 Spießhofer founded a general store in Heubach and finally in 1886 together with his future son-in-law Michael Braun in the same building the corset factory Spießhofer & Braun , which has been operating under the name Triumph since 1902operates. From the very beginning, both of them developed the factory into a company of international importance.
