Johann Gottfried Tiedemann (born September 18, 1803 Hundehagen ; † August 10, 1850 in Rostock ) was a German businessman and printer.

Life

Johann Gottfried Tiedemann was born the son of a forester. After completing commercial training, he acquired Rostock citizenship in 1825 and settled in the Hanseatic city as a merchant for building materials. In addition to brokering insurance, he ran the Achilles lithographic printing plant, which he took over in 1826 and which he expanded into a high-performance printing house in 1829 by taking over the stone warehouse. In the plague year of 1831, health and passports were printed in Johann Gottfried Tiedemann's printing works. For the Rostock Whitsun Markets he printed the Price Courante goods and a case atlas of the earth . From 1828 plaster busts and plaster figures were also sold. In 1839 Johann Gottfried Tiedemann was appointed court lithographer. Since 1837 he was a member of the Association for Mecklenburg History and Archeology . He died of the consequences of dysentery .
