Johann Heinrich Gernler (historian)
Johann Heinrich Gernler (born February 2, 1727 in Basel ; † December 11, 1764 ) was a Swiss historian .
Gernler studied at the University of Basel , obtained a master's degree in philosophy in 1742 and was also a private lecturer . From 1754 until his death he was a full professor of history .
