Johann Heinrich Sutermeister

Johann (Hans) Heinrich Sutermeister (* 1733 ; † 1802 ) was a Swiss bell founder and councilor . Sutermeister was the son of the bell founder Daniel Sutermeister , brother of the bell founder and councilor Johann Konrad Sutermeister and the uncle of the bell founder Samuel Hieronymus Sutermeister .

Johann Heinrich Sutermeister first married Maria Katharina Rychner. He cast bells by himself in Zofingen and then moved to Aarau , where he cast bells with Johann Heinrich Bär . After his death he married his widow and moved back to Zofingen and had a daughter and two sons with her. He cast bells with his brother Johann Konrad Sutermeister and with Daniel Kuhn . Alone he cast bells in 1774 for Schwarzenbach near Sursee , in 1776 for chapels in Sursee and in 1777 for a chapel in Ruswil . He also cast about 18 bells in the same region with his nephew Samuel Hieronymus Sutermeister , who later took over the business.
