Daniel Kuhn

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Daniel Kuhn (* 18th century) was a Swiss bell founder in Zofingen .

Daniel Kuhn was a son of Jakob Kuhn ; In his family there were several (bell) founders (originally written as Kun ) from at least the 17th century . Samuel Kuhn , named Giesser at the end of the 17th / beginning of the 18th century, could be Jacob's father. Daniel's daughter Rosina remained single and died in 1825, the last of the Kuhn zu Zofingen tribe.

Kuhn cast bells for Muotathal (1760), Windisch (1763), for Buchenrain and Weggis (both 1765), Attinghausen (one each 1769 and 1770), Ettiswil (1771), Oberdiessbach (1773), Brittnau (1777, cast), Sursee and Hergiswil. He often worked with Johann Konrad Sutermeister and his younger brother Johann Heinrich Sutermeister , just as his father Jakob Kuhn had worked with their father Daniel Sutermeister .
