Daniel Sutermeister (* 1688 ; † 1757 ) was a Swiss bell founder .

biography

Sutermeister's father, Hans Konrad, was a butcher and landlord and was a member of the Zofingen Council of Forty . Daniel Sutermeister learned the profession of bell founder from Daniel Sprünglin I. and later married the daughter of his teacher. With Samuel Hunkeler he cast bells for Brittnau in 1710 and for St. Stephan in Bern in 1717 . He cast bells alone: ​​1733 for Ruswil ; 1734 for the St. Jakob Chapel in Walterswil ; 1741 for Schübelbach , the chapel in Siebnen ; 1746 for Küssnacht , the chapel in Immensee , 1747 for Leissigen , 1749 for Arth ; 1750 for the chapel in Moos in Reiden ; 1753 Schwyz , the chapel in Ibach ; and in 1757 for Ingenbohl , the Wylen chapel. With Jakob Kuhn in 1739 for Niederwil near Zofingen; 1747 for Frick and Unterseen ; 1749 for Lotzwil . With Konrad Sutermeister he cast bells for Arth in 1752 and for Beatenberg in 1755 .
