Johann Heinrich von Helldorff

Johann Heinrich von Helldorff (born July 1, 1726 in Kieritzsch , † March 23, 1793 in Merseburg ) was an electoral chamberlain and canon.

Life

He came from the Saxon noble family von Helldorff and was trained by private teachers. Like many nobles of the time, he entered the court service of the Wettin Electors of Saxony and was first appointed chamberlain and later chamberlain at the court of Dresden . In the cathedral city of Merseburg he was appointed canon around the same time.

In 1770, Johann Heinrich von Helldorff bought from Oberhofmeister Friedrich Wilhelm von Witzleben on Wohlmirstedt the earlier Breitenbauch goods in debt, St. Ulrich and Stöbnitz , which he had bought in the highest bidder in 1764 .

The surge Ortisei built Johann Heinrich von Helldorff and financed the construction of a new castle church, which is still preserved and the foundation he laid. Castle, manor, palace garden and terrace garden in Ortisei were now up without compensation expropriation in 1945 in the family of Helldorff.

In 1786 Johann Heinrich von Helldorff sold the manor Stöbnitz to his son Ferdinand Heinrich von Helldorff (1764-1815), who was then a government assessor.

Johann Heinrich von Helldorff died on the morning of March 23, 1793 in Merseburg and his body was transferred to Ortisei for a noble burial on March 28. From his marriage to Henrietta Ernestina, born von Schlotheim , he left the son Carl Heinrich Anton von Helldorff (born August 4, 1767) in addition to the above-mentioned son.
