Johann Hermann Dielhelm (born December 7, 1702 in Frankfurt am Main ; † June 20, 1784 in Frankfurt am Main, probably buried in the Peterskirchhof ) was an author of hydrological works (author abbreviation IHD).

Little is known about his life. Apparently he was a trained wig maker . He published descriptions of numerous river regions for the benefit of travelers and other enthusiasts , in which he described the landscapes, cities, castles, fortresses and monasteries in detail. The works initially appeared anonymously. The author was given by a researcher In Historischen Dingen , which contains his initials I, H and D. The title of the most widespread work and the pseudonym was borrowed by Johann Christian von Stramberg in the 19th century for his much more extensive, but still unfinished work from: Memorable and useful Rheinischer Antiquarius, who represents the most important and pleasant geographical, historical and political peculiarities of the whole Rhine river, from its outflow into the sea to its origin. From a historical researcher. (39 vols.)
