Johann Jürgen Rohde

Johann Jürgen Rohde (* 1929 in Halle an der Saale ; † September 4, 2001 ) was a German sociologist .

For more than 20 years - from 1974 to 1995 - Rohde was Professor and Head of the Medical Sociology Department at the Center for Public Health at the Hannover Medical School ( MHH ). Rohde first completed a journalistic training and from 1954 studied sociology , psychology and systematic theology at the University of Hamburg . His dissertation from 1960 on the sociology of the hospital is now a classic in the field. In 1971 he completed his habilitation at the MHH. Rohde retired from the 1994/1995 winter semester. The Medical Sociology Department was subsequently closed as an independent area.
