Johann Jakob Haltiner (* 1728 ; † June 26, 1800 ) was a Swiss master builder from Altstätten .

Haltiner learned his trade as the first journeyman from Hans Ulrich Grubenmann in Teufen . He marries Barbara Zürcher, the daughter of Grubenmann's sister. One son from this marriage is the builder Hans Ulrich Haltiner (1755–1814).

His works include the churches of Opfikon , the Reformed Church of Kloten , the Catholic Church in Altstätten , Hemberg , Flawil , the Reformed Church in Horgen , the Reformed Church of Bauma , the secular building of the Rössli inn in Mogelsberg , and in 1772 the Reburg, Altstätten.

The idea of erecting a monument to the church builder in Horgen was not implemented, but the only known portrait of Haltiner resulted from it.
