The Reformed Church of Kloten is a transverse church designed by Johann Jakob Haltiner in the Rococo style .

history

The new building of the church in Kloten took place in response to the strong population growth. The architect Johann Jakob Haltiner executed the nave from 1785–1786. The tower was added in 1788–1790 by Johann Grubenmann .

Exterior

The building forms a transverse nave and thus follows a construction scheme that has been popular since the Wädenswil church was built in the Zurich region . On both longitudinal facades of the church there are risalites , which are finished with curved volutes and triangular gables . Oval windows are located above high semicircular windows, and a row of arched windows follows in the risalits. The signs are provided with curved hoods. The tower has a dome.

Interior

The festive interior was designed by Peter Anton Moosbrugger . Ionic pilasters lead to the stitch caps and the richly decorated Rococo ceiling. The scheme with a pulpit on the south wall and a steep U- gallery on the other sides is strongly reminiscent of the model of the Wädenswil church.
