Johann Jakob Kollmann (born May 13, 1714 in Kirchheim in Swabia ; † January 22, 1778 ) was the city ​​physician in Deggendorf .

Life

The son of a Reichsgräflich-Fugger court clerk studied at several universities and a doctorate in Rome to Dr. med . After he had already held two city physics degrees at the age of 29 , he applied for the office of city ​​doctor in Deggendorf. After a trial relationship he was appointed at the beginning of 1744 and he had to marry the widow of his predecessor as part of his appointment.

He was active for 34 years and was also interested in scientific research , which mainly concerned questions of human nutrition and " medicinal science ". In recognition of this work, the Bavarian Academy of Sciences, founded in 1759, accepted him as one of its first members.

The Dr.-Kollmann-Strasse in Deggendorf is named after him.
