Johann Jakob Steffelin

Johann Jakob Steffelin (born October 28, 1754 in Hagnau , † April 27, 1838 in Friedrichshafen ) was a German lawyer , administrative clerk and senior magistrate , comparable to a current district administrator .

Life and work

Johann Jakob Steffelin, the son of an estate manager, studied law at the universities of Innsbruck , Orléans and Würzburg . He then became a judicial officer in an office of the Weingarten monastery in 1779 and from 1785 chancellery and senior magistrate in Weingarten . In 1808, Steffelin was appointed chief magistrate at Neckarsulm, and from 1811 port director and civil servant in Friedrichshafen. In 1826 he was relieved of this position. Johann Jakob Steffelin died on April 27, 1838.
