Johann Josef Regenbrecht
Johann Josef Regenbrecht (born September 23, 1797 in Braunsberg , Warmia , † May 4, 1854 in Posen ) was a German philosopher and Catholic theologian .
Life
Regenbrecht attended the Royal Catholic High School in Braunsberg and then studied philosophy at the new Silesian Friedrich Wilhelms University , which was the only university in the Kingdom of Prussia to have a Catholic theological faculty. In 1816 he became a member of the Corps Teutonia Breslau. In 1826 he received his doctorate as Dr. phil. In the same year he became a dean to the provost church (Koenigsberg) . Since 1832, Kanonicus of Poznan Cathedral , he obtained his doctorate on 16 November 1836 in Wroclaw also to Dr. theol. He was a foreign correspondent and professor of philosophy in Poznan .
The brother Eduard Regenbrecht (1792-1849) was a jurist and rector of the University of Breslau.
