Johann Karl Harries

Johann Karl Harries (born September 11, 1862 in Sandbeckerbruch in Osterholz-Scharmbeck , † May 18, 1925 in Wesermünde ) was a German lawyer , judicial councilor and local politician.

biography

Harries was born and raised on Gut Sandbeck in Scharmbeck . In 1891, after studying law, he came from Berlin to Lehe , which is now part of Bremerhaven . Here he worked as a lawyer from 1892 and later also as a notary .

From 1900 to 1903 he was mayor of Lehe. From 1904 to 1924 Harries was an honorary senator in the magistrate of the city of Lehe. He was knowledgeable about the development of the city's real estate system.

Honors

  • In 1924, after the merger of Lehe into the city of Wesermünde, Harries was honored with the honorary citizenship of Lehe at the last meeting of the magistrate .
