Johannes Kriebitzsch
Johannes Kriebitzsch (born July 28, 1857 in Halberstadt ; † February 7, 1938 in Mannheim ) was a German glass painter who mainly made lead glass windows for churches in the Palatinate and northern Baden .
Life
On March 3, 1890, Johannes Kriebitzsch and his partner Voege founded the company Glasmalerei Kriebitzsch und Voege in the Mannheim district of Lindenhof , which was renamed Glasmalerei Kriebitzsch after the departure of his partner in 1906.
The company worked for both Protestant and Catholic clients and received a medal for the window with the depiction of St. at the Karlsruhe glass painting exhibition of 1901, organized by the Badischer Kunstgewerbe-Verein. Katharina , which was in the Heilig-Geist-Kirche in Mannheim.
During the First World War , the work of stained glass was interrupted and was only resumed at the end of 1917 with two employees unfit for war. Johannes Kriebitzsch handed over his company to long-term employee Erwin Drinneberg due to an illness in 1930.
Kriebitzsch made some of his glass windows from the same cardboard box , the size and color of which was adapted to the order. This common practice has resulted in e.g. B. His figure of Christ can be seen in a similar form in the Protestant churches of Eisenberg (1900), Edenkoben (1905), Wachenheim an der Weinstrasse (1906), Kleinbockenheim (1906), Battweiler (1907), Ramsen (1907) and Freimersheim . In his workshop over 30 glass painting equipment for churches of the Protestant regional church of the Palatinate was created . In the churches of the Diocese of Speyer , whose church district is congruent with that of the Protestant regional church, Kriebitzsch can also be found to have over 30 glass painting equipment. Between 1912 and 1929 the company also supplied glazing in conjunction with Ottfried Waldemar Stöckle .
