Waldrohrbach is a municipality in the Südliche Weinstrasse district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Verbandsgemeinde Annweiler am Trifels , within which it is the third smallest local community in terms of population.

The place is in Wasgau , as the southern part of the Palatinate Forest and the adjoining northern part of the Vosges are also called. Neighboring communities are - clockwise - Annweiler am Trifels , Ilbesheim near Landau in the Palatinate (exclave), Waldhambach (Palatinate) , Münchweiler am Klingbach , Silz (Palatinate) , Gossersweiler-Stein and Völkersweiler .

Waters
The municipality is traversed by the Kaiserbach , a left tributary of the Klingbach , from west-northwest to east-southeast. The Assenthalbach and the Heimbach, which is about one kilometer long, are located along the entire length of the municipality , the former is a left and the latter a right tributary of the Kaiserbach, which flows into it at the southeastern edge of the settlement. history
In the 13th century the community was under the sovereignty of Count Emich IV of Leiningen . Until the end of the 18th century, Waldrohrbach belonged to the Madenburg rule .
From 1798 to 1814, when the Palatinate was part of the French Republic (until 1804) and then part of the Napoleonic Empire , the municipality was incorporated into the canton of Landau . In 1814 she moved to the canton of Annweiler . A year later it was added to Austria . Just one year later, the place, like the entire Palatinate, changed to the Kingdom of Bavaria . From 1818 to 1862 the "Wald-Rohrbach" - as it was spelled at the time - belonged to the Bergzabern Land Commissioner ; The Bergzabern district office emerged from this .
From 1939 the place was part of the Bergzabern district . After the Second World War , Waldrohrbach became part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate within the French occupation zone . The closest motorway junction is Rohrbach on the A 65 . Waldrohrbach itself is part of the Rhein-Neckar transport association; for trips to Karlsruhe , however, the tariff of the Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund applies .
