The municipality of the association includes the town of Annweiler am Trifels and twelve independent local communities , the administrative seat is in the eponymous town of Annweiler am Trifels .

The association is located within the Palatinate Forest . The southern part lies in the Wasgau , as the southern part of the Palatinate Forest and the adjoining northern part of the Vosges are also called, while the north lies in the central Palatinate Forest ; the northwest includes areas of the Frankenweide .

Surveys
The highest point in the southern part is the 576 8 meter high Rehberg . To the north-east of this the Sonnenberg extends and further east the Hohenberg . In the southwest are the Ebersberg , the Rötzenberg (459 m) and the Dimberg (418 m). The Kleine (451 m) and the Große Hahnstein join to the south of the Rehberg . In the extreme southeast is the Abtskopf
To the north of the Queich, the Almersberg (564.1 meters), the Harzofenberg (556.4 meters), the Große Fischberg (530.3 meters), the Kehrenkopf (529.7 meters) and the Meisenhorn (518.2 meters) are striking Surveys.
Waters
The central flowing water is the Queich , which runs in a west-east direction . From the left it takes up the Wellbach west of Rinnthal , which in turn takes up several tributaries such as the Eiderbach , the Kleiner Fischbach , the Kaltenbach , the Freischbach and the Langenbächel . The Rimbach flows from the right within Sarnstall . Then come from the left the Hahnenbach and the one and a half kilometer long Eisbach , which is created by the confluence of the Dernbach and Eusserbach .
The Dernbach takes on several tributaries along the way , such as the Drenselberg , Hermersbach , Holpertalbach , Ohlsbach , Ramberger Bach , Talbach , Waltersbach , Pfalzbach , Leinbach and Sandbach streams . The Eußerbach is dammed up to the Schweinswoog immediately north of Eusserthal . Then he takes the Dürrentalbach from the right . Further south-east it takes up the Eischbach from the right .
Beyond the catchment area of the Queich, the Klingbach rises south of Gossersweiler-Stein . mayor
Christian Burkhart (CDU) has been mayor of the Annweiler community since January 1, 2018. In the direct election on June 11, 2017, he was elected for eight years with 50.9% of the votes. He is the successor of Kurt Wagenführer (FWG), who had not started for health reasons, and his predecessor Ludwig Lehnberger (CDU, mayor from 1983 to 2009).

The description of the coat of arms reads: “In a silver shield border split by a grafted golden tip of blue and black, at the top right a golden crook pointing obliquely to the left, covered with a floating silver cross, at the top left a growing, red-armored, tongued and crowned golden lion, at the bottom red Dreifels also a red castle.
