The Dernbach is the nearly 7.5 km long, left or north-eastern source brook of the Eisbach in the district of Südliche Weinstrasse ( Rhineland-Palatinate ).

The Dernbach runs in the southern part of the Middle Palatinate Forest . Its source is located at about 364 m above sea level. NHN on the eastern slope of the 526 m high Langental head . From there it flows mainly in a southerly direction and before Ramberg, in addition to a few other small streams, takes in the Waltersbach, which flows in from the left or north and is only a few hundred meters long. The Ramberger Bach from the west and the Ohlsbach from the east flow into the village itself. Then the Dernbach flows through the eponymous place , at the northern edge of which the Leinbach flows from the east.
Below the Vogelstockerhofs , in the district of Annweiler on Trifels , the Dernbach united to about 174 m high with the next from the right from the west Eußerbach to Eisbach an inflow of, Rhein creek Queich .
The catchment area of the upper Dernbach borders in the northeast on the watershed between the Queich in the south and the Speyerbach in the north.

Attractions
The ruins of the castles Meistersel , Neuscharfeneck and Ramburg lie in the wooded surroundings of the Dernbach , and beyond the Modenbach valley are the ruins of the Frankenburg .
