The Ohlsbach is a one kilometer long stream in the south-eastern Palatinate Forest on the boundary of the local community Ramberg in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Südliche Weinstraße , which flows into the Dernbach from the left and east .

The Ohlsbach rises in the Palatinate Forest east of Ramberg at about 321  m above sea level. NHN in a mixed forest on the southern slope of the Mühlberg . Its source is still in the area of ​​the municipality of Ramberg directly on the municipality boundary with Dernbach.

It first flows about 30 m in a north-westerly direction, then crosses under a forest path and turns west. He now runs through the meadow corridor In den Ohlsbach and turns more and more to the northwest. He then reaches the location of Rambach and crosses under Dekan-Schill-Straße . It then passes the village, partly underground, to the center of the village, then turns north and crosses the main road westwards at the level of the Catholic parish church St. Laurentius and finally flows into the Dernbach in Ramberg at about 232  m from the left .

Catchment area

The catchment area of ​​the Ohlsbach has a size of 1.2 km². It is bounded in the north by the catchment area of ​​the Talbach , in the northeast and east by the Speyerbach tributaries Modenbach and Hainbach and in the south by that of the Leinbach .

Attractions

The ruins of Neuscharfeneck Castle are located on the southern border of its catchment area .
