The Harzofenberg is 556.4 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Palatinate Forest . It is located near Ramberg in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Südliche Weinstrasse .
geography
location
The Harzofenberg rises in the Palatinate Forest-Vosges du Nord biosphere reserve and in the Palatinate Forest Nature Park . Its summit is 1.8 km west-north-west of Ramberg , 2.5 km north-north-west of Dernbach , which is in the Dernbach valley , and 2.8 km north-north-east of Eusserthal , which is in the Eusserbach valley . Its eastern flank belongs to the district of Ramberg, its western flank to those of Dernbach and Böchingen .
In the transition region from the resin Ofenberg to west south-western Meis horn ( 518.2 m ) is located on cats rock , a small area of the multi-part fauna Habitats -region Biosphärenreservat Pfälzerwald (FFH No. 6812-301;. 359.97 square kilometers ); it extends to close to the summit region of the Meisenhorn.
Natural allocation
The Harzofenberg belongs to the Palatinate Forest natural area, which is classified as a 3rd order Greater Region in the systematics of the handbook of the natural spatial structure of Germany published by Emil Meynen and Josef Schmithüsen and its follow-up publications . If one considers the internal structure of the natural area , the Harzofenberg belongs to the Middle Palatinate Forest and here to the Haardt mountain range, which separates the Palatinate Forest from the Upper Rhine Plain .
In summary, the natural spatial allocation of the Harzofenberg follows the following system:
- Greater region 1st order: Layer level land on both sides of the Upper Rhine Rift
- Greater region 2nd order: Palatinate-Saarland layer level land
- Greater region 3rd order: Palatinate Forest
- 4th order region (main unit): Middle Palatinate Forest
Traffic and hiker's hut
East past the Harzofen mountain of leads Weyher in der Pfalz running in the east-northeast of Ramberg to Dernbach in the south country road 506. It applies just south of Dernbach near the Vogelstockerhof on the L 505, the southwest of the mountain through Eußerthal and then west of the mountain on to Landauer Forsthaus Taubensuhl leads. Northwest of the mountain is the Pottaschtalhütte (Böchingerhütte) , a managed refuge from the local association Böchingen of the Palatinate Forest Association .
