The Verbandsgemeinde belong to four independent local communities , the administrative seat is in the eponymous local community Offenbach an der Queich . The administrative area of the Verbandsgemeinde borders the city of Landau in the Palatinate to the west and is traversed by the Queich .

history
The community of Offenbach an der Queich was re-established in 1971 in the "voluntary phase" as part of the functional and territorial reform of the Rhineland-Palatinate that began in the 1960s . Offenbach has been the seat of the municipal administration since January 1st, 1972. After temporary accommodation, the administration was able to move into the newly built town hall of the association in 1979 .

The local council Offenbach at the Queich consists of 28 honorary council members, who in the local elections on May 26, 2019 in a personalized proportional representation were elected, and the full-time mayor as chairman.

The mayor of the municipality has been Axel Wassyl (independent) since July 1, 2002. In the direct election on March 4, 2018, he was confirmed in his office for a further eight years with a share of 72.4% of the votes.
coat of arms
The coat of arms description reads: “In a shield border divided four times by black and gold in a four-part shield, top right in gold a floating black post covered with a black ring, top left a multiple angled silver mark in blue, bottom right an eight-pointed silver St. John's Cross in red and a black mark in the form of a lying H. "
It was approved by the Neustadt district government in 1977 and contains figures of the coats of arms of the four local communities.
