The wineries Friedrich Becker and Bernhart , both of which belong to the Association of German Prädikatsweingüter, have their headquarters in the community . Before moving to Ilbesheim near Landau, the community was also the headquarters of the German wine-growing cooperative .

Another institution is the 1st German Wine Trail on the Schweigener Sonnenberg. The approximately one kilometer long route was opened in 1969; it offers an insight into the history of viticulture, such as the various cultivation traditions, work in the vineyard or the influence of soil and climate.

As a curiosity, it should be mentioned that some silent vintners also allow wine to grow on the French side due to old lease agreements. This enables German winemakers to produce geographically protected wines such as “Crémant d'Alsace”.
