history
The idea for the Bergzaberner Volksbank, founded in 1872, came from Hermann Schulze-Delitzsch . Like all banks, the predecessor institutes of VR Bank Südliche Weinstrasse eG had to struggle with difficult times such as the First and Second World Wars or inflation and the economic crisis , but despite everything, the bank continued to grow. In 1950 the small local banks merged with neighboring banks to form larger units for technical processing. In 2002 the bank merged with Raiffeisenbank Südliche Weinstrasse in Billigheim-Ingenheim , in 2017 with Raiffeisen- und Volksbank Dahn eG, seated in Dahn , and the Raiffeisenbank registered cooperative, seated in Herxheim near Landau / Pfalz . Since then, the bank has operated as VR Bank Südliche Weinstrasse-Wasgau eG, based in Bad Bergzabern.
